April Wrap Up

I have to say, this reading month honestly hasn’t been that great. I read a decent amount of books, but I didn’t really love anything I read. I enjoyed some, but there was nothing that I can say that I’m really attached to. I’m just gonna hope that next month will be better for reading. I've also been a bit absent on my blog and for that I'm sorry. I've been having a bit of a block after previously having such a good blogging month, so hopefully, I will be more into it this coming week.

1. Fire

I gave this book 2 stars. I finally after almost a year of trying, decided to give up on reading this at 51%. One day I might have the desire to try it again, but for now, it’s a lost cause.

2. Wild Poppy

I gave this book 3 stars. It actually took me over a year to read this one. It just didn’t hold my attention in the beginning and I felt cheated with the ending of the novel.

3. My Name is Victoria

I gave this book 4.5 stars. I don’t know what words to use to explain to you guys how I feel about this book. It wasn’t love in the way that it blew my mind and I’ll just never be the same, it was love in the way that the book had so much substance and was so well written. 

4. The Boy and His Ribbon

I gave this one 4.5 stars. I loved it but it’s kind of painful to think about so I won’t say much about it until I’ve read the second book which comes out in June.

5. Meet Cute

I gave this book 3.67 stars. This may seem like a really random rating but that’s because I took the average of all the stories in this book and then didn’t round it. This book was pretty hit or miss with me. There was nothing I absolutely hated, but there were ones that I honestly don’t even remember now. However, there were definitely a few gems in there that I would gladly read full-length novels on.

6. American Queen

I gave this book 4.5 stars. It took me till the last book to realize that this series was based on the legend of King Arthur. Just a much steamier version. I’ve pretty much got all the characters pegged except Embry. I’m not exactly sure who Embry is supposed to be, although I’m pretty sure he’s supposed to be Mordrid. Carrying on, this book follows our lead, Greer, and her love for two politicians over the span of 10 years. It was amazing, angels sang, my acne cleared up, my depression and anxiety mysteriously cured itself. 

7. American Prince

I gave this book 4 stars. While the first novel followed Greer and her relationships with both Embry and Ash, this book follows Embry and his relationships with both Greer and Ash throughout the years. It is told in a similar format as American Queen so we get the full picture. I honestly love how it was told.

8. American King

I gave this book 4 stars. Once again we follow a character throughout the years. We get all this insight about Ash that we never got to see first hand in the first two books. We get all his feelings and experiences that the other two just were not around to see. This book also had the perfect conclusion.

9. Birthday Girl

I gave this book 4 stars. A new Penelope Douglas book! I honestly was not expecting another one so soon after Hideaway. I know Hideaway came out 6 months ago, but you have to remember it took her like 2 years to release Hideaway so you can see this is pretty thrilling. This book was a lot different from what we usually see from Pen. This was a lot more of a fluffy romance than the edgy teen angst stuff she usually writes. Despite the controversial topic she chose to write about, it isn’t actually that racy.

10. Rising Silver Mist

I gave this book 4.25 stars. I feel like my expectations were a bit too high. I didn’t find this on to be as good as the second book, there were just so many frustrating things that happened. However, I still really loved it. It was like this perfect mix of The Vampire Diaries, ACOTAR, and a little bit of Paper Princess sprinkled in.

11. From the Earth to the Shadows

I gave this book 3.75 stars. I found it a lot slower than the first book. It still had a lot of action and I am glad that I read it, but it wasn’t Amanda’s greatest work.

12. Our Alternate Ending

I gave this book 4 stars. I didn’t have very strong feelings about this book, but I did find it very cute and had a lot of character. It was a bit predictable, but I wasn’t overly mad by it.

13. The Hundredth Queen

I gave this book 3 stars. I really have no feelings for this book. It wasn’t horrible, but it felt like nothing new. I won’t be reading any of the next books, but I wouldn’t discourage you from reading it if you really wanted to.

14. Bloom

I gave this book 4 stars. This book was exhilarating, but also anxiety inducing. I don’t know where this book is going to go, but I really hope what I think is going to happen doesn’t.

March Wrap Up

This has been a pretty amazing reading month. It started out not that great, but I had two weeks off because of Spring Break, so I had the opportunity to read so many books I had been meaning to. I'm really pleased with what I have read this month. I read ten of those books within a week. 

    

1. Cracked Kingdom

I gave this book 5 stars. Perfect ending to a phenomenal series. Especially the Epilogue, you’re gonna want to read it.

2. The Witch Doesn’t Burn In This One

I gave this book 5 stars. It was something I flew threw. I loved all the topics and themes that were covered throughout the book. 

3. Big Badd Wolf

I gave this book 4 stars. I enjoyed this one the most out of all the books in this series.

4. Alex Hunt and the Chase for Rhapta

I gave this book 3 stars. I went in thinking it was gonna be a Lara Croft type story but that was not the case.

5. Phoenix Fire

I gave this book 4.25 stars. Surprisingly enjoyable. I didn’t think I would like it as much as I did but it’s very original and full of so many twists and turns.

6. Promise Me

I gave this book 4 stars. This is one of those feeling books, so if you don’t like having feelings don’t read it. If you like feelings do read it.

7. Born Darkly

I gave this book 4 stars. The moment I found out it was a dark romance between a psychologist and a serial killer I had to read it.

8. November 9

I gave this book 5 stars. Not what I expected and I loved it! It’s Colleen Hoover, of course, I loved it!

9. You Will Be Mine

I gave this book 4 stars. Creepy and suspenseful. You won’t guess who the killer is. Actually, maybe you will, but it probably won’t be your first choice.

10. One Small Thing

I gave this book 4.25 stars. I was so excited to read this book. It was really good. Not as good as Cracked Kingdom, but it still had so much going for it. I loved the chemistry between the two leads and I loved the story itself.

11. It Ends With Us

I gave this book 5 stars. You’re going to cry. You’re going to feel an entire spectrum of emotions. I think going into this one with as little information as possible is best. So just read it.

12. The Heart Forger

I gave this book 4.5 stars. So much better than the first book, but I wanted to leave half a star because the next book will probably be the best.

13. The Bone Season

I gave this book 4 stars. Wow. Just wow. If you haven’t read this one yet, I would highly suggest giving it a go. 

14. One Dark Throne

I gave this book 4.5 stars. The only thing keeping me going is the fact that Arsinoe and Billy are just so fricken adorable that I must keep reading for them.

15. The Last Summer of the Garrett Girls

I gave this book 4 stars. Perfect summer read. This book comes out June 5th, just in time for reading on the beach.

16. Furyborn

I gave this book 4.5 stars. This book has so much hype around it and it’s not even out yet. Rest assured the hype was earned. May 22nd. Mark it down on your calendars.

17. Siren

I gave this book 4 stars. I didn’t actually think I was going to read another book this month, but I just could not put this book down. There were definitely parts I found a bit harder to read, but it’s overall really a mind fuck.

February Wrap Up

I didn't read as much this month as I did last month, but it's still pretty good. In my defense, I got Sims 4 and my life will never be the same.

1. Lover Mine

I gave this book 5 stars. So this month I continued my binge read of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, so the next 4 books are on this list, so I'm gonna get through them pretty quickly. I loved John and Xhex.

2. Love Unleashed 

I gave this book 5 stars. Payne and Manny's book felt almost like a novella. I read it so quickly that it felt almost like a filler book, but a really good filler book. I loved Payne and Vhicious's reunion.

3. Defiant Attraction

I gave this book 4 stars. I read this one for the New Adult Book Club and I adored it. I would have loved some justice to have happened because there were some things that did feel very uncalled for and just unfair, but overall I really enjoyed it. Would recommend to NA lovers.

4. Lover Reborn

I gave this book 4 stars. Enjoyed, but not as good as it could have been. I feel like I expected so much more because I read some peoples reviews on this and they talked about how this was their favorite. There were several people who said that so I expected a lot more.

5. Finding Rhiannon

I gave this book 4 stars. If you like dark romances this is for you, just be warned there was a scene that literally made me sick to my stomach and other parts that I actually had to skip past.

6. Lover at Last

I gave this book 5 stars. I was basically just trying to get up to this book. I've been wanting to read this one since 7 or 8 books ago, but I knew I couldn't just read this one and not those ones because nothing would make sense, so I read the others and I'm glad I did. I decided to give myself a break from the binge after this book. I will finish the rest at a later date because I can only handle so much fantasy at once.

7. Olympian Challenger

I gave this book 4 stars. I'm so pumped for the sequel. I mean this book isn't going to be released until July, but I'm ready to wait.

8. Thorn

I gave this book 2 stars. That's actually being a bit generous, but I'll leave it. I was not impressed by this book at all. Letting my feelings for this book fester has left me hating it more as the time has passed. I'm still actually very interested in seeing what happens in the next book, but I definitely wouldn't recommend anyone pick this up.

9. The Big Bad Wolf

I gave this book 3 stars. I wrote a review for this one and I haven't posted it yet, but basically, my feelings were that I didn't think I would remember the plot of this in a week or two. The only reason I actually remember the plot is because I said that in my review.

10. Stolen Songbird

I gave this book around 4-4.5 stars. I really enjoyed this one. It's been a hot minute since I've actually read a physical book as I've been trying to get through my hefty list of ARCs before their release dates. Anyway, I got the sudden urge to read one of my books and this one felt perfect. I really enjoyed it and I'm really excited to read the sequel.

11. This Heart of Mine

I gave this book 4 stars. This one was very cute, lots of emotion good and bad, and I would recommend this to everyone who wants something truly heartfelt. Pun intended.

12. Our Dark Stars

I gave this book 4 stars. At the time I originally rated this one I was under the impression that there would be a sequel, but now I realize that there probably isn't and I made it up in my mind. After this realization, I decided I wanted more out of this book than I got. There needed to be more expanding of characters and setting, maybe even with the plot. It was a quick read, but I felt like everything stopped just a little bit short of what I would have expected.
