Bring Me Their Hearts
Bring Me Their Hearts
by Sara Wolf

Release Date: June 5th, 2018

Synopsis:

Zera is a Heartless – the immortal, unageing soldier of a witch. Bound to the witch Nightsinger ever since she saved her from the bandits who murdered her family, Zera longs for freedom from the woods they hide in. With her heart in a jar under Nightsinger’s control, she serves the witch unquestioningly.

Until Nightsinger asks Zera for a Prince’s heart in exchange for her own, with one addendum; if she’s discovered infiltrating the court, Nightsinger will destroy her heart rather than see her tortured by the witch-hating nobles.

Crown Prince Lucien d’Malvane hates the royal court as much as it loves him – every tutor too afraid to correct him and every girl jockeying for a place at his darkly handsome side. No one can challenge him – until the arrival of Lady Zera. She’s inelegant, smart-mouthed, carefree, and out for his blood. The Prince’s honor has him quickly aiming for her throat.

So begins a game of cat and mouse between a girl with nothing to lose and a boy who has it all.

Winner takes the loser’s heart.

Literally.

My Thoughts:

I actually have an ARC of this that I will be reading very soon, but I just wanted to do a quick Waiting On Wednesday as a way of saying how excited I am to read it and to get you guys pumped up for its release too! Sara Wolf has one of my favorite styles of writing. She mixes serious topics with a specific brand of humor that I can't get enough of. Her protagonists are some of my favorites and I'm sure this one will be no different.

The Golden Tower (Magisterium #5)
The Golden Tower
by Holly Black and Cassandra Clare

Release Date: September 11th, 2018

Synopsis:

The final, thrilling instalment in this extraordinary series from bestselling authors Holly Black and Cassandra Clare.

A generation ago, powerful mage Constantine Madden came close to achieving what no magician had ever achieved: the ability to bring back the dead. He didn't succeed... but he did find a way to keep himself alive, inside a young child named Callum Hunt.

Facing up to what he is, Callum has battled chaos and evil across four years of magical training at the Magisterium, eventually defeating the armies of chaos in an epic battle.

It came at a cost.

Now, triumphant and heartbroken, Callum Hunt has just about had enough, and is ready to complete his training. But the evil Callum faced has not given up just yet...

My Thoughts:

Why is it that every time a cover and synopsis for this series is revealed I never hear about it right away? I was scrolling through Goodreads trying to figure out which book to do for this week's Waiting On Wednesday when I saw a beautiful golden sight which just so happened to be The Golden Tower. I don't know about you but I think I've waited long enough for this book and it better be as good as I found the first and second books.

The Reckoning of Noah Shaw
by Michelle Hodkin

Release Date: November 13th, 2018

Synopsis:

Noah Shaw confesses all in this second novel of a chilling new companion series to Michelle Hodkin’s New York Timesbestselling Mara Dyer trilogy!

Noah Shaw doesn’t think he needs his father’s inheritance.
He does.

Noah believes there’s something off about the suicides in his visions.
There is.

Noah is convinced that he still knows the real Mara Dyer.
He does not.

Everyone thought the nightmare had ended with Mara Dyer’s memoirs, but it was only the beginning. As old skeletons are laid bare, alliances will be tested, hearts will be broken, and no one will be left unscarred.

My Thoughts:

I love these characters so much and I love their story and I can't wait to see how things develop after the first book in this new trilogy. I know things are probably going to have to get a lot worse before they get better, but I'm hoping it will be worth it in the end.

Angel
by Sarah Brianne

Release Date: January 31st, 2018

Synopsis:

Angel is the son of the devil, bleeding Luciano blood.
Adalyn is fascinated by bad boys, bleeding Caruso blood.
Seized by his enemies, he’s only a moment away from death.
Toying with the enemy, she’s about to get caught in her own trap.
One kiss could betray his family and seal his fate.
That kiss could cost her life.

I’m just a f**king pawn.

I just want to be a f**king mob wife.

My Thoughts:

This one comes out this week! Hopefully! This is something I've been looking forward to for a long time. This is the fifth book in the series so I've already come to love so many of the characters including Adalyn. Hopefully, I will come to love Angel as much as the other Made Men. This series is dark and angsty and if Angel is anything like the others, this is going to be one hell of a wild ride.

Queen of Air and Darkness
by Cassandra Clare

Release Date: December 4th, 2018

Synopsis:

Dark secrets and forbidden love threaten the very survival of the Shadowhunters in Cassandra Clare’s Queen of Air and Darkness, the final novel in the #1 New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling The Dark Artifices trilogy.

What if damnation is the price of true love?

Innocent blood has been spilled on the steps of the Council Hall, the sacred stronghold of the Shadowhunters. In the wake of the tragic death of Livia Blackthorn, the Clave teeters on the brink of civil war. One fragment of the Blackthorn family flees to Los Angeles, seeking to discover the source of the blight that is destroying the race of warlocks. Meanwhile, Julian and Emma take desperate measures to put their forbidden love aside and undertake a perilous mission to Faerie to retrieve the Black Volume of the Dead. What they find in the Courts is a secret that may tear the Shadow World asunder and open a dark path into a future they could never have imagined. Caught in a race against time, Emma and Julian must save the world of Shadowhunters before the deadly power of the parabatai curse destroys them and everyone they love.

My Thoughts:

This book is coming out a year from now and I am still the most excited I have ever been. We finally have a cover for this beautiful finale and I can't wait to actually get my hands on a copy. This series has been the best one Cassandra Clare has released yet and I have no doubts that this final installment will make the first two books look boring.

Bound to You
by Alyssa Brandon

Release Date: April 10th, 2018

Synopsis:

A teen werewolf finally meets her destined soulmate only to discover that he's not quite what she expected in this steamy debut romance.

She's met her mate . . . and he's met his match.

Megan Ross has been waiting her whole life for her mate to come and sweep her off her feet. But the wolf she meets on the beach is NOT the sweet gentle boy she's been dreaming of. Instead, he's a warrior, one whose suffering has led him to lock his heart away in a prison as cold and hard as a diamond, who fights to resist the bond and their deep sexual attraction.

Far from home, with a soulmate who is still a stranger, Megan learns that the path to true love isn't quite as straight and easy as she thought . . .

My Thoughts:

This sounds very cliche and like lots of books I've read before, but I'm excited about it. It's been so long since I've read a good paranormal romance and those are my most guilty of pleasures. Not to mention I love books about werewolves especially ones with destined mates. Plus, we don't get a lot of those when it comes to YA. Books with werewolves and their mates are usually NA or "Mommy Porn" romance novels that are extremely raunchy. I'm excited to get my hands on this book to add to my guilty pleasure shelf.

Tiger’s Dream is the conclusion to the epic Tiger’s Curse fantasy romance series that left you breathless.

My Thoughts:

5 years. I have waited 5 years for this book to come out. I've waited 5 years for this book to even get a cover and synopsis and finally, it is here. I'm excited and terrified to read this in the coming year. I just hope that when I finally do get to read it that it'll be worth the wait.

Brave
by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Release Date: December 11th, 2017

Synopsis:

Ivy Morgan hasn't been feeling like herself lately. Not like anyone can blame her. After all, being held captive by a psychotic fae prince hell-bent on permanently opening the gates to the Otherworld is bound to leave some mental scars.

It’s more than that, though. Something dark and insidious is spreading throughout Ivy, more powerful than she could ever imagine... and it’s coming between her and the man she’s fallen deeply in love with, elite Order member Ren Owens.

Ren would do anything to keep Ivy safe. Anything. But when he makes a life altering choice for her, the fallout of his act has far reaching consequences that threaten to tear their lives apart. If Ivy is going to have any hope of surviving this, she must put aside the hurt and betrayal she feels, and work with not only those she loves, but with an enemy she would rather kill than ever trust. War is coming, and it soon becomes clear that what Ivy and Ren thought they knew about the Order, themselves, and even their enemies, has been nothing but a cluster of dangerous, deadly lies. Ivy knows she must be more than just brave to save those she loves--and, ultimately, to save herself.

Because behind ever evil fae Prince, there’s a Queen…

My Thoughts:

I will read anything Jennifer L. Armentrout writes, no matter what (well, unless it's really offensive for some reason, but I highly doubt that would happen, so my statement stands.) I can't say too much because this is the third book in the series, but I can say that I am highly anticipating the release of this book. I was hooked from the moment I found out that there was a character named Ren (I am obsessed with the name Ren, some of my favorite characters are named Ren). If you are interested in checking out the other books in this series I will leave a link here.

The Witch Doesn't Burn in this One
by Amanda Lovelace
Release Date: March 6th, 2018

Synopsis:

2016 Goodreads Choice Award-winning poet Amanda Lovelace returns in the witch doesn't burn in this one — the bold second book in her "women are some kind of magic" series.

The witch: supernaturally powerful, inscrutably independent, and now—indestructible. These moving, relatable poems encourage resilience and embolden women to take control of their own stories. Enemies try to judge, oppress, and marginalize her, but the witch doesn’t burn in this one.

My Thoughts:

All you need to know is that it's a sequel to The Princess Saves Herself in this One. It's a book of poetry, feminist/life poetry which I think is amazing. I don't read a lot of poetry but I'm really excited to read this book. I will leave links to the Goodreads pages and my review of the first book down below.

Synopsis:

More than a decade ago, Roman Calder had a scorching affair with the sister of one of his best friends. Augustine Spencer drove him so crazy he thought of nothing but her. The only thing they did more often than heat the sheets was fight. Gus Spencer is known to Washington insiders as the president’s secret weapon. Gorgeous and brilliant, Gus runs the press pool with the determination of a shark. No one dares to cross her, not when she’s known for having a spine of steel. But long ago one man melted her down. Despite the fact that she’ll never forgive Roman for breaking her heart, now that they work together she can’t get him off her mind.

When a dangerous investigation leads both Roman and Gus to London, the heat between them becomes unbearable. As they begin to unravel an international conspiracy, they find themselves falling all over again. But when a killer threatens their world, can they fight to stay together or will the sins of their past keep them forever apart?

My Thoughts:

I read the first three books in this series so fast, I am honestly so excited to get to this one and find out more about what's happening. It's like one big conspiracy theory with romance mixed in. I'm completely obsessed with it. I need to know if my theories are right, I need to know what's happening behind the scenes, I just want to have all the answers which i hope will be revealed in this book.

Turtles All the Way Down
by John Green

Release Date: October 10th, 2017

Synopsis:

It all begins with a fugitive billionaire and the promise of a cash reward.

Turtles All the Way Down is about lifelong friendship, the intimacy of an unexpected reunion, Star Wars fan fiction, and tuatara. But at its heart is Aza Holmes, a young woman navigating daily existence within the ever-tightening spiral of her own thoughts.

In his long-awaited return, John Green shares Aza’s story with shattering, unflinching clarity.

My Thoughts:

I've waited five years for this. Honestly, I just about screamed when I noticed that there was a cover, synopsis, and a release date for this year. John Green is a very hit or miss author, but I almost always love his books and I'm sure I'll love this one too.

Rules of Magic
By Alice Hoffman

Release Date: October 10th, 2017

Synopsis:

Find your magic

For the Owens family, love is a curse that began in 1620, when Maria Owens was charged with witchery for loving the wrong man.

Hundreds of years later, in New York City at the cusp of the sixties, when the whole world is about to change, Susanna Owens knows that her three children are dangerously unique. Difficult Franny, with skin as pale as milk and blood red hair, shy and beautiful Jet, who can read other people’s thoughts, and charismatic Vincent, who began looking for trouble on the day he could walk.

From the start Susanna sets down rules for her children: No walking in the moonlight, no red shoes, no wearing black, no cats, no crows, no candles, no books about magic. And most importantly, never, ever, fall in love. But when her children visit their Aunt Isabelle, in the small Massachusetts town where the Owens family has been blamed for everything that has ever gone wrong, they uncover family secrets and begin to understand the truth of who they are. Back in New York City each begins a risky journey as they try to escape the family curse.

The Owens children cannot escape love even if they try, just as they cannot escape the pains of the human heart. The two beautiful sisters will grow up to be the revered, and sometimes feared, aunts in Practical Magic, while Vincent, their beloved brother, will leave an unexpected legacy.

My Thoughts:

This is the prequel to one of my favourite books of all time, Practical Magic. The moment I found out about this book I wanted to click the Want to Read button on Goodreads ten thousand times. I never knew that I wanted this book until I read the synopsis and now it's all I want. This is definitely one of my most anticipated books of the year.

Whichwood
Whichwood
by Taherah Mafi

Release Date: November 14th, 2017

Synopsis:

A new adventure about a girl who is fated to wash the bodies of the dead in this companion to Furthermore.

Our story begins on a frosty night…

Laylee can barely remember the happier times before her beloved mother died. Before her father, driven by grief, lost his wits (and his way). Before she was left as the sole remaining mordeshoor in the village of Whichwood, destined to spend her days washing the bodies of the dead and preparing their souls for the afterlife. It’s become easy to forget and easier still to ignore the way her hands are stiffening and turning silver, just like her hair, and her own ever-increasing loneliness and fear.

But soon, a pair of familiar strangers appears, and Laylee’s world is turned upside down as she rediscovers color, magic, and the healing power of friendship.

My Thoughts:

Furthermore was so fun and I had such an amazing time reading it, so I can't wait to get to read this new instalment in that series. The world is just so fresh and unique and I can't see how this could possibly go wrong.
