Top 5 Favorites That I Want to Revisit

Man, I have so many books on my plate I don't know when or if I will ever get to these books, but just know that I really do want to give them another read.

5. Clockwork Angel

I was doing a reread of all the Shadowhunter books a year or two ago and I just never got to this one. I read all of the Mortal Instruments books up until Heavenly Fire and then just got too busy with other things happening and never got to this one. Honestly, I miss my Will and I want to read about him again.

4. Throne of Glass

Surprisingly I’ve only read this series once and I think that’s kind of weird. I want to go back and see all of the small details that I maybe didn’t notice the first time through.

3. I’ll Give You the Sun

I only read this book once but that was probably the happiest I have ever been from reading a book. 

2. The Outsiders

I’ve read this one through a couple of times, but I haven’t read it in a few years and I want to give it another read.

1. The Sea of Tranquility

I haven’t read this book in years but it is definitely something I would love to revisit. It has one of the most heartfelt relationships and storylines that I’ve ever read and I want to see what else I can see reading it after all this time.

Top 5 Auto-Buy Sci-fi and Fantasy Authors

It’s actually kind of hard for me to order these ones. The first and last were pretty easy, but the three in the middle really have no differences.

5. Maggie Stiefvater

She has one series that I still haven’t read because I just haven’t been able to find the books in-store, but I plan to order them soon so I will get on that. However, the moment I hear about a new Maggie Stiefvater book you know I will be buying it as soon as it comes out. I like her style.

4. Sarah J Maas

I’m in love with her writing. Whenever her books come out I preorder them because I don’t want to wait. She has yet to let me down and I’m so excited to see what she writes next.

3. Cassandra Clare

I own every book she’s written including the ones she has co-written. She is a master of her craft. Actually, I think that she does have comic book versions of TMI out that I don’t own yet, but someday.

2. Jennifer L. Armentrout

I have all of her YA books and some of her NA, but I don’t actually own any of her contemporary NA books in physical form. I have read most of those though. She isn't only an auto-buy author, she is also my most read author. I'm kind of obsessed with her works.

1. J. K. Rowling

She was a no-brainer number one. I have three copies of the same book by her. If that isn’t auto buy then I don’t know what is.

Top 5 Teachers/Mentors

This was kind of a hard list to make considering how awful or unmemorable most teachers are in books. This is kind of sad because teachers have really important jobs, they are literally educating the future adults of this society and that says a lot about the characters in those books. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy this post.

1. Dimitri Belikov

Dimitri ends up as a love interest but starts out as our protagonist's mentor, so he makes the top of this list. I love him.

2. Professor Mcgonagall

Probably one of the most badass characters out there. She is a hardass with a heart of gold. She protects the students while still being strict and earning their respect. I can't think of a single thing I dislike about her.

3. Joe Solomon 

He was the best teacher at the Gallagher Academy which is saying a lot considering it's a school for spies. He is such a mystery for the majority of the series and the little information you do find out is always incredibly riveting. 

4. Warden

I've only just finished reading the Bone Season, but I already love the Warden. He is considered our protagonist's mentor throughout the book. He's also incredibly mysterious and maybe not as evil as we think he is.

5. Haymitch

I can't beleive I almost forgot Haymitch. He would be so offended if he knew I almost forgot him. I can almost hear the sassy comments. Haymitch is snarky, cynical, and just plain unlikeable and those are the reasons I love him. He has that hard exterior but is really just a softy in desguise.

Top 5 Romances

Now since I’ve read a lot of romance novels of every shape and size, I decided to make this easier on myself and just make the list books of contemporary settings. No fantasy and no historical. Also, no YA, just plain romance. So you won’t be seeing Wolfsong or Kresley Cole’s IAD series. This was also honestly the hardest list to write because I had it narrowed down to about 8 books and I just couldn’t figure it out.

5. Fear Me

I have a weakness for darker romances and man this book checks that box. I love Kieran and Lake and I’ve reread this book about 10 billion times. I love it.

4. Hideaway

This was an instant love. I loved everything about this book, I even read it about 3 times in the first month of its release and I’ve probably already read it about 15 times as a whole.

3. Scandal Never Sleeps

This book is full of scandal as the title suggests and the romance is very sexy. I’m addicted to not only this book but this series.

2. Hopeless

This is old school Colleen Hoover and still to this day remains my favorite of her works. I love her writing style and her characters, it’s impossible not to fall in love along with them.

1. The Secret of Ella and Micha

This has been a favorite of mine since the beginning of time. I love them and I love their love. I read this maybe 6  years ago and I still love it.

Top 5 Books I Didn't Get to In 2017

This week is a list of books I never got around to in 2017 but plan on getting to this year as I really want to read them. This is in no particular order because I want to read all of them pretty badly.

1. The Hate U Give

I am actually about halfway through this one, it got pretty heavy and I was in a pretty bad mood at the time I was reading it so I did put it down for a bit. I plan on picking it back up when I won't be in such a crappy mood. 

2. It

I am so frightened by the size of this book that as of right now I am listening to the audiobook so I don't actually have to look at the size of this thing.

3. The Wise Man’s Fear

I was scared of the size of this one too, but compared to It, this is tiny. I'm over my phobia and will surely read it soon.

4. The Fate of the Tearing

I'm more terrified of the contents of this one. The last two were because of size, this one is because I don't think things are going to end well with our characters. I actually got this book last year for Christmas and I really want to finally read it.

5. Turtles All the Way Down

Considering how long I waited for another book from John Green you'd think I'd have read it right away, right? No. If I wait long enough for something I will keep waiting because I'm afraid it won't be as good as I built up in my mind. I'm gonna get passed it though.

Top 5 Books on My 2018 Wishlist

Only one of these books actually has a cover… I am very excited about all of these so they are in no particular order.

1. Queen of Air and Darkness

I am ready to see where this all goes. I need to know if my ships are going to sail and if there are going to be any more plot twists that completely take me by surprise. I’m ready.

2. Throne of Glass 7

I’ve been waiting my entire life for this book. I’m ready to read it but I’m not ready for it to be over. 

3. Kill  Switch

I am addicted to Penelope Douglas’s writing. This is going to be a wild ride.

4. The Darkest Star

A book about Luc? Sign me the fuck up!

5. The Peer and the Puppet

I love Bebe Reid and her hardcore romances. This is also going to be a wild ride.

Top 5 Books Featuring Vampires (Adult Romance Version)

This weeks topic for Top 5 Wednesday was Books Featuring the Paranormal creature of your choice so I decided to choose vampires, but since I have another list planned out for a Top 10 Tuesday, I decided to make this one an adult romance edition because it's a little different, to say the least. 

5. Chicagoland Vampires

I started reading this series years ago and I just haven't finished it. I'm maybe halfway through the series, I just got distracted and never continued. One day I will, but until then, I will enjoy the good memories.

4. Black Dagger Brotherhood

I still have not finished this series, but I'm loving it so much. Each story is so different and has tons of different layer, although at times I could say it may have a bit too many layers, it is very good nonetheless.

3. Night Prince Series

This series is so good! I haven't read the fourth book yet, but I will get to it soon enough, I just haven't been in the mood for paranormal lately and have been hooked on Penelope Douglas books, but once I get over that I am going to read the shit out of the fourth book. If you like Jericho Barrons I would highly suggest reading this series.

2. Lothaire

Currently re-reading this one because I was hit with a craving to read it late last night. It is the one that made me decide to choose vampires for this list, in fact. This book is an A+ and I would highly recommend reading it.

1. A Hunger Like No Other

This is by far my favorite book when it comes to mixing adult romances with vampires. As I am a huge fan of both I found this to be a perfect mixture of action and sexiness.

Top 5 Books Featuring Witches

This weeks prompt seems like it was made for me. I love a good witchy novel, probably more than most. I love witches. I'm going to put these in order of their love of their general witchyness, not in the order of best book to worst book. This is solely based on the witch element.

5. Hex Hall

The first time she accidentally did magic she turned her hair purple. That is just the tip of the iceberg. This book was full of magic and trying to figure out where the protagonist came from and what she was and how she could fit into this world. It was also hilarious.

4. Talking to Dragons

It's been a long time since I read this book, but I know it must be good because I enjoyed it back when I hated reading. The story was very whimsical and fun, the protagonist being on his own a lot of the time trying to figure his powers out and then finding someone else like him and then there's double the magical fun. Amazing.

3. Harry Potter

The only time Harry Potter will ever be third on a list, I can promise you that. This is only third because this series never gave me the conventional witchy feeling that others on this list did. They went to a magical school, boys and girls alike and they were actually learning things. In my mind the conventional witch is Stevie Nicks.

2. Practical Magic

This book is an OG witch novel. The very atmosphere of the book feels magical. The way the author writes it, you know these characters aren't just any characters in just any world. This is something special, these characters are special.

1. The Witches

This book is all about witches, from myths to actually meeting them in person. This book made my childhood amazing, albeit a little frightening because I was too young to be watching that movie. This book is the embodiment of witches.
